Both platforms are competitive and great. However, there are also PROs and CONs of both platforms since they have different focuses in terms of events and customer segments.

Eventbrite is popular in serving all kinds of small scale communitiy driven events organized by individual or ground-up communities. According to their website, Eventbrite serves over 2 million events held per year.

On the other hand, EventNook is geared more toward facilitating the needs of Business and Professional event teams which are managing important business critical events or medium to large scale events, because organizing and managing business critical events is not the same as smaller scale communities driven events.

Here are a few important things which can give you a quick understanding of the differences between EventNook and Eventbrite.

1. Customer Focus : Individual VS Business/Team

EventNook focuses on building its capabilities and services toward meeting the needs of Business and PRO-Event Teams which are managing Medium to Large scale events in terms of size and complexity. However, you can absolutely make use of EventNook for smaller scale events too.

2. Free vs Paid Service

EventNook is a PAID subscription event service and it charges fees for both free and paid events. However, Eventbrite is a FREE platform to host for free events.

A lot of our business customers organize internal or public events, and some of them are fairly complex and large scale. For example, a Business Leadership Conference with 3,000 attendees. The event management team can make use of EventNook’s platform and its services to simplify the registration logistics and event management.

If you are organizing a casual entrepreneurship talk or a FREE small scale networking event, you can probably use either Eventbrite or EventNook. Eventbrite may even be preferable since it is FREE for free events. However, if you organize a business leadership conference by an institute, the event team will most likely prefer to use EventNook for its complete and flexible packages offered to Business and Event teams.

3. Flat commission fee VS Lower commission fee

EventNook charges significant lower commission fee of 1% + $0.30 /ticket while Eventbrite fee is 2.5% + 0.99 /ticket. For medium to large scale events, the organizers will save significant cost with EventNook.

Let’s say 1000 tickets are sold at $200 each, the following is the comparison of the costs from each platform.

4. Social Communities VS Private

EventNook does not force attendees or registrants to sign up for an account or login at EventNook. On EventNook’s platform, attendees are not subscribed to its marketing and event promotions emails. Attendees will only receive emails or communication messages related to the events they have registered for such as confirmation email, reminder email or event updates from the organizers.

On the other hand, Eventbrite platform promotes recommendations of events to users and attendees based on their account profile and it sends promotions of events which attendees might be interested.

Eventbrite offers similar check in management solutions but as of now, they do not provide instant badge printing service offered on their app. It has other features like onsite ticket sales from the app while EventNook does not offer ticket sales within the check-in app.

Eventbrite’s registration site features a single page design with other featured similar events in the page to encourage users to browse more events. On the other hand, EventNook registration site is more exclusive and it provides a micro-site to publish detailed event information with multiple pages.

[Feature Update] Enhancing HTML Editor to make publishing event site easier!

Recently, we upgraded our WYSIWYG HTML editor to make publishing event information and do visual formatting much easier with creating an online event page.

You can simply use our visual editor to change text style and color, add images, embed youtube, etc. in very simple way with mouse and click. We now also provide the simple way to upload images to the event site if you like to host the images on EventNook platform. Or you can also link your image from your own preferred image platform such as Flickr, Imgur, Facebook , Pinterest or image link from your own website.

[Feature Update] New Custom Registration Form Fields

We’re excited to introduce you some feature enhancements we added this week. If you have been organizing events using EventNook for online event registration or selling event ticket, you may know how easy to set up the custom event registration form with the drag & drop form editor to add and customize the form controls (fields) to collect information from your event’s attendees or guests.

The existing form controls are such as Single line Textbox, Paragraph Textbox, Multiple Choice (Radio buttons), Check boxes, Dropdown and Address.

Today, we added the following new features:

  1. Country List – the dropdown list with auto populated countries
  2. Group Header – Title for the group of controls (E.g., Company Details)
  3. Add Other Option (applicable only for Multiple Choice, Checkboxes and Dropdown controls) – to allow users enter the “Other” option information which is not included in the options list of provided in the registration form.

Sistic or EventNook: Which is best for event organisers?

EventNook - the Sistic AlternativeRecently, people have been asking whether they can use EventNook in the same way as SISTIC to sell event tickets. EventNook can be a viable alternative to most, although there are some types of events we cannot cater to.

Eventnook logoTo make things clearer, here’s an overview of what EventNook can and cannot do. Let’s start with what we cannot do, so we don’t waste your time!

1. Cannot: Assigned seating

Some events will assign a seat number to every attendee. This is especially common with large performances and sometimes with concerts.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide assigned seating at the moment. We may add this feature in the future.

2.Cannot: Network of authorized agents

Unlike SISTIC, we don’t have the disposal of a network of authorized agents ticket-printerfor ticket pick-up. We are also not going to have one. It simply doesn’t fit with the times any more. Even airlines work almost exclusively with e-tickets these days.

This feature must have been really useful when SISTIC started its phone booking services back in 1991, but really, we don’t think it’s necessary these days. Nevertheless, should you wish to make use of a ticket network, it’s probably best to stay with SISTIC.

3. Can: E-ticketing

We will send e-tickets directly to your attendees’ e-mail address immediately upon receipt of payment. These tickets will contain a bar code so that you can handle them just as easily as tickets printed at an authorized agent, saving both time and money for the event organiser and attendees alike. 4. Can: Save money

Because of what we don’t do, EventNook is a lot cheaper to use than SISTIC. We use a no-nonsense fee structure, and you will always only pay for what you use.

  • EventNook charges no setup fees or any other fixed fee.
  • Pay only for what you use. If you sell 20 tickets of $50 each, you pay only $31. No other hidden fees!
  • It’s absolutely free to sell free tickets on EventNook (and always will be).

5. Can: EventNook is reliable

Of course, you don’t want your ticketing provider to fail you when you need them most!

6. Can: Collect audience data

On EventNook, you can customize the sign-up form to ask any question that is relevant to your event. You can set mandatory and optional questions.

You might also like to know other facts about who’s coming, such as their age, their favorite music style, their preferred drink or where they first found out about your event. The more you know about who’s coming, the better you can be prepared!

You can ask people whether they would like to opt-in to your e-mail list, and that way you will have an easy way to promote future events to those who have already come to your events before. You’ll build an automatic e-mail list without any extra effort!

Not only that, but with one click, you can save all the collected audience data to an Excel spreadsheet (or on Google Drive), and from there you can export it to other software, such as your CRM or e-mail marketing software.

7. Can: EventNook is easy to use
