With website theme selection, the details of your event title, date, and location will be shown below the banner image, whether or not your banner already contains that information. But what if you want to display a different text or set a different style of text for your caption below your image?
As you can see from the event page above, the custom header feature can help you avoid repeating the same information and allows you to freely utilize the space to briefly explain your event or add any other information you want your guests to notice! Or if you want to simply change the alignment or color of your text, you can utilize this feature too!

Customize Your Event Page With Website Theme Selection

Want to add a little zest to your event page?  Now you can select from 3 stunning website themes to tailor your event page and attract more attendees!

 

Default

The default theme lays out all the details of your event in a comprehensive and compact design. Details of the event are displayed in a two-column layout, and visitors to the event page are able to attain most or all of the event details at a single glance. When registering for the event, visitors will be redirected to the ticket information page.

Creative

With the creative theme, your event name, date, location  and registration button are displayed within the header. This keeps your event page crisp and tidy, suitable for those of you who do not have event details in your header picture. This also encourages visitors to register for your event, since it is the first thing they see when they visit your event page! Details of the event are displayed in a one-column layout, and visitors are able to view ticket information and register for the event on the page itself.

Inspire

If you can’t decide between the default theme and creative theme, the inspire theme is a hybrid of the two! It is similar to the default theme in terms of header layout, but visitors are able to view ticket information and register for the event on the page itself, just like the creative theme. The ticket information falls right below the header in a wide one-column layout, while other event details are separated into a tidy two-column layout.

EventNook Launches Self-Serve Check-in Kiosk App

To accommodate event organizers who are planning to host big events with minimal staff, EventNook has just launched a self-service Kiosk app that supports event organizers to try a more hands-off approach and allow attendees to check-in on their own.

The EventNook Kiosk Check-in Manager is a comprehensive tool that is designed to support medium to large-scale events and allows event organizers to conveniently manage onsite event registration and make sure everything runs smoothly on the event day. The app is now available for download on the app store.

Through the app, event organizers are greeted by a simple user interface where they can manage the event and guest check-ins through a real-time dashboard.

The kiosk app allows users to check-in efficiently through a QR code, which they receive upon the completion of their registration online. On the actual event day, they can simply scan their QR code to check-in for the event. For guests who have trouble finding the confirmation email, the Kiosk app also allows event organizers to check in their guests manually by searching for their name or ticket ID.

Here are some key features of EventNook’s Kiosk App:

1. Kiosk (Self Check-in) Feature

To save event organizers time and energy of having to redirect guests, the Kiosk Feature now displays a message to prompt guests on to the next course of action upon checking in.

The message displayed on the screen can be customized by the event organizer to anything they want to convey to their guests. Be it a warm WELCOME message directing them to the conference room, or a sheepish SORRY message for customers who have brought an invalid QR code.

Our goal is to help event planners, meeting planners and event organizers with venue sourcing job or finding a suitable venue easier while they are planning for their events or meetings. The venues are for all kind of events such as conferences, meetings, corporate functions, performances, festival, arts, wedding, workshops, seminars, training, outdoor activities, etc. and different types of venues such as hotel, auditorium, restaurant, bar, club, outdoor space, theatre, co-working office, and other unique venue spaces.

As a start, we have launched the venues in Singapore and we will be adding venues from the rest of Asia such as Thailand, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, China, Indonesia and Malaysia into this.

As with all of our websites, we designed this online venue directory to be crisp and clean without much clutter so that it would be easy on the eyes! We provide the basic information of each venue such as its website, contact information and address.

When event organisers find a venue that is suitable for their event, they can contact the venue owner directly for price quotations and floor plans as well as other details such as amenities.

With that, we aim to make this online venue directory a comprehensive guide for organisers to use as a reference in the coming months so stay tuned!

[Feature Update] How to end / close your online event registration in one click.

We’re excited to introduce to you EventNook’s new feature, it is a minor function which allows the event organizers to end/close the registration in one click. If you are an event organizer using EventNook for your event registration, you may have notice that an individual ticket under your event have an option to be hidden or closed for registration.

However, if you have multiple ticket types in your event and you want to close the registration for all tickets, it may be a little bit of a hassle to update individually. You can now choose to deactivate your event registration or end the registration with just one click.

5 ways to celebrate Fathers’ Day & more parenting events

A son’s first hero, a daughter’s first love – fathers indeed. This Sunday 15 June, let us all gather our love, gratitude and immense respect for our first hero and first love to celebrate Father’s Day 2014. While we were all busy growing up, spending more time in school, at work or with our friends, we might have forgotten the one who was silently supporting us behind our back.

Here are 5 simple things you can do for/with your Super Dad this Father’s Day.

1. Whip up a meal for him

You do not need to be Gordon Ramsey or Martin Yan in the kitchen, just prepare a simple meal or dessert that your dad love it, and I am sure it will put a smile on his face. If you have no idea where you can start from, you can start googling for recipes or meat dishes could be the recipe you are looking for! Alternatively, you can choose to bring daddy dearest out for a meal to pamper him with his favourite cuisine or gourmet.

Daddy dearest might need to relax and take his mind off his workload. You can plan to take him for a stroll at a park nearby or have a drink with him! Share your daily happenings with him over a cup of coffee or tea. You can also bring him to a brewery to have a drink or two. Your dad will be elated to hear about the new guy or girl you met at the bar last week!

Who says only women deserves to be pampered? Treat your dad to a rejuvenating and relaxing spa or massage session. Allow him to take his mind off any vexing matters momentarily and recharge.

10 Steps to Plan A Successful Event

Whether you were selected to plan an event or if you volunteered to plan for an event, we know it is a huge responsibility with many tasks involved. Here is the basic framework to get you started.

Step 1 Determine the Goal of Your Event

Define what objectives and outcomes of the event

Identify target audience and event emphasis

Step 2 Decide on a date and time for the event

Organize a team to handle specific details (for eg. Sourcing venue, sourcing sponsors, logistics, registration, etc)

Step 3 Consider the location and type of facilities needed to host event

When making overall decisions, consider that the event is all about creating a memorable and unique experience for your attendees

Step 4 Organize a team or form partnerships with other organizations to assist with execution of the event

Identify their roles

Step 5 Figure out the finances and budget for the event

Identify realistic and necessary true cost and plan potential revenue and expenses

Step 6 Create a timeline for the event

Outline administrative processes, document who is responsible

Communicate this timeline to everyone involved in the event

Step 7 Determine Key decisions:

  • Program – Determine order of activities, execute agenda items and how to communicate program to attendees
  • Speakers – First, you would have to source for your speakers, and then identify topics, as this is a deciding factor for most of your attendees. Consider the time frame for each speaker and host him or her warmly.
